How to Update Your Whatsapp When Offline

Whatsapp is a social mobile application which is available for users on all platforms like JAVA, Symbian, Android and also iOS. Liked because of its fast messaging service at cheaper costs and rate, Whatsapp is used by over 1 billion people and still counting.

Due to the fact that the messaging app is free, it has become the most preferred messaging application. Supporting features like multimedia (video, picture and audio files sharing), and also with group chat feature that enables over 100 users chat together and swiftly;  Whatsapp has no ads!


Though Whatsapp is free, you still have to download it with data so as to partake in the fun. And it should be noted that Whatsapp updates their app every now and then, updates are made available within 3-6 months after the initial download, and you will receive an app pop-up demanding you update before your current version becomes void(expires).


Failure to update your Whatsapp before the given deadline, your Whatsapp expires and you cannot even receive messages or even view your Whatsapp contacts (that is how bad it gets).



So now, what happens when you get stranded (data-wise, no Wi-Fi) and you really need to use this app ASAP; either for a business or casual chat.

The best thing to do is actually look for a friend whose own Whatsapp is still valid (not yet expired), then send his/her own Whatsapp application to your own device, then install or update rather; then you can access your sweet app once again.

NB: Do not uninstall the expired application, install the version you collected from a friend with the older version still in your phone (by doing so you are updating the Whatsapp application offline.

Should you uninstall the expired version before installing the valid one you sent from a friend, you might risk losing all your chat history (except if backed up) and also all your groups.
